I went to a friend’s burial today, and it was most dramatic. We met in a covered chapel because of the rain. Nothing happened that was out of the ordinary, but it began to thunderstorm with lightning and golfball-size hail came pouring down on us. It was as if God was mourning for His child who had died. It was an unforgettable experience.
Of course, God could not be mourning when the Bible says that precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints (Psalm 116:15). He welcomes every one of His children into Heaven when the breath leaves the body.
2 Corinthians 5:8 KJV — We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.
There is only one way to Heaven, and that is through the Lord Jesus Christ. If you believe that Jesus died on the cross for you, taking your place and paying in full your sin debt, then you will be saved.
God only allows born again Christians into Heaven. All others will go to Hell when they die. See the Salvation Page if you want to know more.
